    Curse you, Bowler Hat Dog!

Mouse looks rather disgusted. I don’t blame her. However, they were both rather stupid to let a poor, innocent, tasty sausage go wandering off alone.

The “Home Squeak Home” sign is a cute touch.

    Forged letters? On the Sausage?
    Which letters were they, O-S-C-A-R?
    Or perhaps M-A-Y-E-R?

Jealousy spread and caused anger, the anger tainted the friends and cost the safety of one of them.
If this element, this hideous emotion did not taint them, then they would still be living in harmony, unfortunate for them. I take pity on the sausage, though he probably was rather delicious.

geez, the mouse doesn’t even seem the least bit upset that one of her closest friends and roommates was just brutally murdered. She’s all “Oh well, back to living!”

I think she’s just being mature about the whole thing.

And I don’t get it. What forged letter?

Nah, she’s upset. She’s just being passive aggressive. Her mouth says one thing but her facial expression is saying “THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!”

What I find funny is that Sausage went out with his apron on :D

I’m pretty sure the dog was lying about the letters, as an excuse to eat Sausage without repercussions.

…What I find is disturbing is that the bird calls it highway robbery and not murder.

Do not listen to the dog, you foolish sparrow! Sausage is right to your left, alive and well, and asking for money.

↓ Transcript
Panel 1: Bird continues to shout at Dog, but Dog has a sly look on his face. Bird: That's highway robbery, you mutt! You-- you--! Dog: No, no, I had found forged letters on the Sausage, you see, and therefore he had to pay with his life. No way around it when you think about it.
Panel 2: Bird looks sadly down at the pile of sticks and apron that used to be his friend.
Panel 3: Bird flies off.
Panel 4: Back home, Bird sits at the table with Mouse. Sausage's apron sits between them. Mouse: I suppose we will have to do the best we can if we are to stay together.
