This is one of those really messed up Grimm tales, isn’t it?

Poor Mouse and Sausage! I don’t feel too bad for Bird, even knowing what happens to him, as he did kind of bring this on himself for not being grateful for the life he had.

That other bird must be working for an evil cat or something.

Long time reader, first time commenter–I love this site! <3 I have read just about any and every fairy tale one can find, and knowing that someone is telling the lesser known stories is simply fantastic.

…I also love Bird's little feet thingies. His design is darling.

Now his own selfishness has come to the point to destroy their home. The moral of the story, so easily seen, but so many who would overlook it’s subtlety.

Despite how f-ed up this story is, the art is still so pretty and storybook like that I can’t look away! haha

This one always scared me a little bit as a child. :( Are you guys going to do The Six Swans at some point? That’s always been my favorite. C:

Flighty bird. It is probably for the best he didn’t look in the pot–if for no other reason, so we readers didn’t have to see the grimm details of Mouse’s end. So sad–she was the cutest character!
