I remember this one!
YESSSSSSSSS. This is my favourite fairy tale of all time. I cannot wait to see how you portray this. :D :D :D
I LOVE THIS ONE!!!! This is my second favorite of all time! My first being The goose girl of course.
I’ve been waiting for this one!
Is this Elle’s work this time?
Oh, shoot! The credits are missing from the page. I will get that fixed. Yes, this one is illustrated by Elle.
Just wanted to mention that I’m quite excited to see this fairy tale interpreted. I’ve always loved it.
What a surprise- but definitely a fav! THANK YOU THANK YOU.
You HAVE to follow this up with “Snow White and Rose Red” PRETTY PLEASE!!! ^_^
Only downside to this comic is that it won’t be In the soon released Erstwhile print :(
Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanx! I just love this story. I’m in Heaven now! XD
I’m wondering if this was the story selected by the person who pledged for the WISH package over at Kickstarter. If so, then it looks like they made a popular wish.
Nope, this story was in our original lineup. Louisa is illustrating the tale chosen by the pledger and it will be complete sometime in February 2013.
Oh, I know this one! It’s so cute and sweet … a bit sad in places, but really beautiful. I wish it was more popular. Although, from the responses that have been posted so far, it seems to be more widely-known than I had perviously realized.
I remember watching this story on Grimm’s Fairy Tale Classics when I was a kid. It was one of my favorite stories afterward.
Oh how I love this story. The drawing for the cover is adorable–I can’t wait to see the rest of the art.
Am I the only one remembering this tale as really really REALLY scary? As a child it made me uncomfortable. It was told with a creepy tone and with a sound landscape that scared the shit out of me >__< maybe thats a more lighthearted version than?
Well, it’s a bit mixed IMO. It’s both sweet and scary at times–but then again that’s true with most of The Grimm fairy tales.
Ok, so there’s this book called Of giants and ice that’s basically goes to this magic after school program where fairy tales are real. Anyway, there are these two characters that don’t get alot of mention, basically a sentence that said:
‘ The girl feeding the deer glared at her when she saw her staring, the deer frowning and said in a boy’s voice:
: What’re YOU looking at?
Basically I was like what the heck, because I knew it was some kind of fairytale, but I didn’t know what. I think I’m about to get my answer. : D
OMG! This was one of my favorites as a kid (right after The Wild Swans, if we’re talking unconventional fairy tales)– there was an animated tv version that I adored!!!
To be sure, there’s a certain — commonality. Which we will virtuously not mention on account of it’s all spoilery.
I can’t believe this! You are doing my favorite Grimm fairy tale. I love this so much. I can’t wait to see what you do for the stepmother and stepsister.
I love this cover soooo much. It is just perfect!
Oh, that is GORGEOUS. Also, I wonder how many pages it’s going to take before my resolve crumbles and I look up the full story online?
Wow, I leave for the summer and you guys get really really far in the comic. Good work…. now I gotta, read the others :P
I’m trying to decide whether to keep up with this one as it’s posted, or leave the site alone for several weeks and let it build up so I can read more story in one go.
I just love her knowing look on this cover.
Oh goodie, I always loved this fairytale! Can’t wait for the whole story…
This is one of my favorites! Can’t wait! ^^
