The COMIC
Q: What does 'erstwhile' mean?
A: (URST-hwil) adj. of times past, former
Q: Is the name of the comic "Erstwhile" or "Erstwhile Tales"?
A: The name is "Erstwhile." However, since the erstwhile.com domain name was already taken, erstwhiletales.com was the next best choice for the site URL.
Q: Who creates these comics?
A: These stories of the Brothers Grimm are adapted into comic format and illustrated by Gina Biggs. Gina has been creating comics for over ten years. She is most known for her work with Red String, a webcomic published by Dark Horse Comics. She runs the all-female group, Strawberry Comics.
Q: These comics are in COLOR?
A: Yes. All inside pages of Erstwhile comics are in color.
Q: Why does it take so long in between each story?
A: Erstwhile is a side project from my main comic series, Red String. I work on Erstwhile as much as possible in between my Red String and Strawberry Comics work.
Q: When will you have more of the short tales up?
A: I plan to alternate between short and long tales. So one long, one short, one long, etc.
Q: Are you planning to do more popular fairytales like Cinderella or Snow White?
A: I do not have immediate plans to work on those stories. While I enjoy them, there are so many other good stories that receive little to no attention at all. That is why I created Erstwhile. I want to illustrate the fairytales that get little to no attention, despite their quality.
Q: Can I review your comic for my zine/magazine/online site?
A: The more exposure for the comic, the better! If you would like to review a story (or the series as a whole), please feel free. I only ask that you write me an email and let me know where I can read it.
