Panel 1: Maleen and her chambermaid cross through the gates to a new kingdom. They look ragged as they pass by.
Panel 2: They are weeping as a cook tries to calm them down. Cook: Okay, okay, just stop crying. You can work in the kitchen as scullions.

Panel 4: They follow the cook into the castle.

LOL!!!!!!!! The chef is so funny!
The chef reminds me of someone I know. Overall I’m enjoying this variation of the tale.
The equality between Maleen and the helper is really nice in panel 3. This is a wonderful adaptation of this story!
