I remember that the story says their mother would tell them that, but I love the notion that she just casually slips it into conversation.

I love that the mother has a mix of both her daughter’s dominant colors.

…also, curse you Gina, because of this version, I learned that Patricia C. Wrede did a novel-length adaptation. Now I’m anxiously awaiting it to show up at my house! Thanks to this webcomic I’m getting into fairy tale retellings! CURSE YOU!

….uh, so, you read the Wrede version?

…crap, double comment, but I love love LOVE how the first panel shows the dominant traits of both the girls from the story without outright telling us :)

Verizon Wireless pays their mother a gold coin every time she says that to someone.

These girls need to listen to their mother. The last time someone didn’t share we got The Death of Little Hen.

Exactly. Last night’s bedtime story was about what happens when you DON’T SHARE.

Haha, I thought the same thing! The last story started with a “share and share alike” sorta command which someone didn’t obey and then everyone was dead.

Aw, they are so adorable. It’s so refreshing to see a tale where the sisters actually get along. Normally we get a lot of jealous sisters and stepsisters in fairy tales.

I know right? I mean using when we see siblings (who get along) it is usually a brother/sister pairing. Rarely do we see same gender siblings get along.

The artwork is as wonderful as ever. I particularly like Snow White’s trace of a blush and Rose Red’s freckles!

I love how this feels like such an innocent, normal opening to a story, but because it’s on Erstwhile, we all know it might now stay innocent for long…I want to live there, though–it looks so green!!

I assure you this one is actually a lot gentler than some of the previous stories.

Ah, so this tale is going to take place over a few years, that makes more sense with what’s going to happen. I very much like it so far!

Hmm… it’s like Rose Red is about fun and games, and Snow White about efficiency and responsibility. Different, but they compliment each other well. :)

Eventually they get older, become lesbians, practice witchcraft… until snow white gets hit by a stray bullet to the head, and rose red goes psycho (with black hair) and tries to destroy the world.

… Oh right. I dislike Joss Whedon, don’t I? Nevermind then. And season 6 was just awful.

And no, I’m not sure where “to the head” came from. Probably FPS tendencies slipping into the thought process. Boom.
