Of course, if it IS a separate bag of treasure, that little guy sure works quickly. When his beard isn’t stuck on something, of course.
It’s definately a separate bag of treasure–I believe the text says that the dwarf grabbed a bag of pearls and trudged off.
The bag from the last predicament was filled with gold. This one looks like pearls which sort of makes sense if it’s near water… kind of.
I half expected Rose Red to shout “you’re welcome!” sarcastically.

Buddy, they live in the middle of a forest with no neighbors besides mooching bears and they have to gather everything they need to live from day to day from the vast wilderness around them. Your “walk miles and miles on end” curse has already been in effect for like 10 years now.

Now I’m imagining Snow White putting on an apologetic expression and saying “I’m so sorry Mr. Dwarf. I realize now that the proper thing to do would have been to let you drown with your beard intact.”
Also, as A said, his “curse” has been in effect for ten years already. They are probably in better health and physical condition than 90% or more of current American children. (Even ignoring the fact that they don’t eat junk food, because they haven’t got any.)
